Sex offenders register

As a result of the reforms in the Sexual Offences Act 2003, a procedure was introduced so that men who had been convicted only of consenting sex between men could apply to be removed from the 'sex offender's register'.

The procedure was designed to remove people who were not child sex offenders. To understand the details properly you need to read teh Home Office's documents below:

Criminal records

As a result of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012, it is now possible for men convicted of buggery or gross indecney to apply to be removed from criminal records, so they woill no longer have t declare the offences when applying for certain jobs etc. For more informatin see http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/publications/crime/decriminalised-sexual-offences/
